Althea has written some 200 books and illustrated some of these herself. She started writing in 1968 the first ones they (Althea’s then husband Mike and her) printed and bound them their selves all 500 copies of each. Desmond the Dinosaur, because she had bought a wooden carving of a dinosaur who looked very miserable, Cuthbert and Bimbo – the story of a giraffe and and an ant on yellow paper, and Benjamin the story of an elephant on grey paper. The rest is history…
